We often grip most tightly to the things that are not really meant for us because, at some level, we know that if we are unattached, they will fall away. But those are not the things investing in, anyway — the things that only exist because we force them. When we have the courage to let go, we see most clearly what is there because it is so essentially a part of us, so deeply and intricately and undeniably connected. When we let go, we get to see what is real.
